About the Author
Biography
- Born in 1978 in Kaminokuni, Hiyama District, Hokkaido, Japan.
- Began writing fiction while studying in the School of Letters at Senshu University.
- Made his debut in 2001 with Negative Happy Chainsaw Edge (ネガティブハッピー・チェーンソーエッヂ), which won a special prize in the Kadokawa Gakuen Novel Competition. The novel was later adapted into a film and manga.
- Published Welcome to the NHK! (NHKにようこそ！) in 2002. Adapted into manga and anime, the work continues to attract readers and viewers around the world.
- Entered a severe creative slump from 2006 onward. During this period, he worked on himself and developed his stamina and craft as a novelist.
- Published Light Novel (ライト・ノベル) in 2018, a work he considers his second debut.
- Has since published numerous novels, with many of his works adapted into other media.
